MKM have a long history with KRL going back over 10 years and approached KRL initially to support their printing requirements and take over from an incumbent supplier from which the service was poor. KRL were given the opportunity to prove their equipment and service levels. This was successful, and KRL are now our only supplier of multifunction and laser printers. Continuing with the relationship, all of the traditional dot matrix printers were replaced with leased and serviced laser printers. MKM considered a number of suppliers, some local and some based on recommendation. Extensive testing of the equipment took place to ensure compatibility with existing software and systems. This was successfully completed and KRL were asked to supply all sites within MKM’s Branch network with a range of laser printers. Printing at MKM is a vital front line service. KRL ensure the equipment is always serviced for reliability, consumables are delivered in advance and any issues are resolved in very short timescales.
Edward Broderick, Group IT Manager at MKM explains “KRL’s pricing was very competitive and given their good service levels tested over many years, the choice was not a difficult one. MKM do not operate on the ‘lowest cost basis’, but on the ‘best value’ basis. Therefore, we expect competitive prices but accept that good service is not always the cheapest. A provider who can service issues quickly and efficiently and respond is import to us. MKM prefer to do business within the Hull area, thus KRL, offering good service and being Hull based, are a good fit. KRL are also easy to do business with, MKM having its own longstanding Account Manager.”
Edward continues “Installation is always smooth and on-time with KRL’s engineers taking the time to ensure users know how to use the equipment. Often when MKM are opening new sites, due to building works, opening times are known to change. KRL have always been able to accommodate this. Where KRL rolled out new laser printers to all MKM Branches, KRL engineers also installed other (not KRL supplied) equipment for MKM and the whole process worked extremely well. If ever there is a delay in getting a spare part, KRL will supply to site loan equipment to ensure we are kept working with the minimum downtime.”
